Our vision is derived from The Parable of the Mustard Seed:
“The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed...it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.”
Matthew 13:31-21
Our strapline, Sowing, Growing and Knowing derives from this parable. We develop our children's academic, social, emotional, cultural and spiritual progression by sowing the initial seeds from which they can grow. Knowing is memorable, never forgotten. Academic and life lessons learnt that start, then stay with us and continuously evolve. The birds in the branches of the Mustard Tree represent the flourishing of this knowledge. Each bird is unique, like our pupils who blossom and bloom in their own, individual ways, together.
Intertwined with our vision of growth are our Christian values for life: Compassion, Generosity, Friendship, Courage, Thankfulness and Perseverance. Our vision and values underpin all that we do. They are at the root of the three big ideas which act as holding baskets for each subject we study, and the lessons we learn for life. As acknowledged in our last SIAMS inspection report (September 2024), our vision flows through the life of the school, touching us all and taking us all with it. Our motto, 'Be Kind, Work Hard' permeates, reflected in our pupils' excellent behaviour and in the caring and nurturing environment of our small, Christian school.
