Cave Explorer's Day

Sycamore Class became cave explorers for the day, investigating the story of Marcel and his dog, Robot, who discovered cave paintings in Lascaux in 1940. The day was based around the book 'The Cave Explorer' by Kate Winter. Sycamore class learnt about how the paintings were made, explored the possible reasons why cave paintings were made and reflected on how we could communicate to people in the future about how we live now.

The children created their own cave painting and designed and made bone jewellery and groove ware pots from clay. It was a brilliant day, lots of learning and lots of fun. Well done, Sycamore Class!
