Easter Service

KS1 learning about Holidays Now and Then
Thu 30 Mar 2023After learning about holidays in the 1950s we went by train had a Punch and Judy show had ice creams and went on donkey rides. We also created it by using information we retrieved from our grandparents experiences.

Earning Children's University Stamps
Wed 29 Mar 2023The school is part of the Children's University. Pupils have a Passport, they earn stamps for challenges, clubs they attend. A year 5 pupil has made a Hedgehog House, to earn one of her challenge awards.

Archery
Wed 29 Mar 2023In the Summer Term there will be an archery club on offer on Friday. All the pupils took part in a taster archery session yesterday, it was very popular! Due to the pouring rain the session was in the village hall. The plan is to have it on the school meadow after Easter.

Friends Easter Egg Hunt
Mon 27 Mar 2023The Friends organised a brilliant Easter Egg hunt after school. It was a real team effort with relay races and games to 'Win' the chance to hunt for an Egg.

Getting ready for the Easter Service
Thu 23 Mar 2023KS1 are starting to make animals for the Easter Service on the 31st of March at 9.00 am in the church.

Science Experiments at home
Wed 22 Mar 2023The pupils did an experiment at the science café last week. They took home two pieces of bread to sees what would happen when bread is handled under different conditions. One of our parents showed us the results of their experiment!
'We have just checked our bread and as you can see from the photo our liquid soap bread went the moldiest and our unwashed hands bread was the least mouldy. Which is what the children predicted! But the opposite of what I would have predicted.'

Mother's Day Lunch
Mon 20 Mar 2023We had a celebratory roast lunch on Thursday, Mother's, Grandmothers, Aunts and carers joined us. The pupils made place mats with poems and drawings about their special adult on them.
At the beginning of lunch two pupils, one from each key stage said Grace. These were TSP prayers they had written themselves- saying Thankyou, Sorry and Please.
There will be another special lunch in June to celebrate Father's Day.
