Special Visitors
Tue 19 Dec 2023We were lucky yo have a visit from some pupils and staff from Wetheringsett Manor came to visit the school. They had made hampers for some of the children. They had beautifully decorated the boxes and fundraisers for the food inside from supermarkets and donations.
Later on we had a visit from Father Christmas who had been helped by the Friends of the School to have a gift for every child in the school.

Nativity
Fri 15 Dec 2023It was lovely to welcome so many parents, relatives and guardians, some of who travelled up from Essex especially, for the Christmas Service on Friday.
Lime class performed The Nativity and Sycamore and Chestnut read, sang, played the piano and performed Ruldolph the Red Nose on their brass instruments.
We had a collection for the MAT charity this year, Save the Children, and the generosity of all in attendance raised £54.82.
Thank you to the Friends who provided refreshments. Also many
thanks to the parents and guardians who sent such wonderful comments. The children all really gave their best performances.

Sycamore Colchester Castle Trip
Tue 05 Dec 2023Sycamore Class enjoyed their trip to Colchester Castle. The children were able to consolidate and build upon their knowledge and learning from our Romans topic. We looked at artefacts and dressed up, had a storytelling guided tour of the Roman vaults and used our team building skills to build a Celtic roundhouse and a Roman villa. Well done, Sycamore Class!

Reading cafe
Mon 04 Dec 2023Mrs Plowman ran a packed reading cafe for parents and guardians, to come together with their children to spend an hour sharing and enjoying books.
Children completed a book taster menu, contributed ideas to our own 'Rights of the Reader' poster and cosied up with a book, hot chocolate and a gingerbread biscuit to finish the session. Thank you to all the adults who attended.
